The dove is an ancient and international symbol of peace, love, fidelity, new beginnings, the Holy Spirit, and the soul.

A single dove signifies the unity of the marriage bond. It can also signify the release of a soul to heaven. Since doves mate for life, a pair of doves traditionally signify commitment and fidelity. A flock of doves signifies the support and well wishes of family and friends for the newly married couple or it can signify the safe passage to the Final Resting Place for a deceased loved one. A white dove can have a powerful healing effect on those left behind at the loss of a loved one. The doves have been shown to provide emotional release as the final goodbyes are made, and allow a sense of closure.
